Pressure Sensitive Adhesives

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) often known as self-adhesives or self-stick adhesives, form a bond when pressure is applied to join the adhesive with a surface. Solvent, water, or heat is not needed to activate the adhesive. The degree of bond is influenced by the amount of pressure used to apply the adhesive to the surface as well as surface factors.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Provide:

  • Very strong bonds to a wide range of substrates
  • Excellent performance at high speeds
  • Runs at lower temperatures
  • Minimal bleeds or stains (fugitives)
  • High speed labeling to all substrates
  • Outstanding pot stability
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Low odor
  • Increased mileage –

– reduces amount of adhesive applied and application weights

– produces less waste

Types:

  • General Purpose
  • Low Viscosity
  • Fugitives
  • Paper, Film and Foil Substrates

Permanent or Removable Applications

  • Foils and films
  • Tapes
  • Labels
  • Notepads
  • General Purpose
  • Product Assembly
  • Container labeling
  • Mailing: tipping, folding, gluing, display tags
